Taylor Alison Swift, born December 13, 1989, is an American country
singer-songwriter. Signed to Big Machine Record label in 2006, Taylor
made her debut on the U.S. Billboard country charts with her debut
single "Tim McGraw". In October 2006, she released her self-titled debut
album, which was certified 3× Multi-Platinum by the RIAA and was
nominated for the Best New Artist award at 50th Grammy Awards. In
November 2008, Swift released her second album, Fearless, that earned
Swift four Grammy Awards, including the Album of the Year, at the 52nd
Grammy Awards. In 2008, her albums sold 4 million copies altogether,
making her the best-selling musician of the year in the United States.
In January 2010 Swift was listed as the top-selling digital artist in
music history with over 28 million digital tracks sold. March 2010, she
had sold over 13 million albums worldwide. Swift released her third
album Speak Now, October 25, 2010.
